Our Story
The Jean Cares Fund was founded in honor of Jean Lampley — a mother whose battle with dementia and hypertension showed, firsthand, how critical timely access to nutrition and medication truly is.
Her son, Lee M. Lampley II, grew up watching his father drive miles to the suburbs for basic healthcare and healthy food. That childhood reality became the foundation for LK Small and the Jean Cares Fund: a commitment to ending food and healthcare deserts across the Chicagoland area and beyond.
